Living Within Your Means

Oprah Winfrey figured it out: “You can have it all. You just can’t have it all at once.”
Take a day to notice all the messages you see on TV or the Internet, hear on the radio, or read in the newspaper, telling you how to spend your money. For every spending message, how many are there to save? Few, if any. Life is full of temptations to spend, and maybe even overspend. Not spending money will be hard at first, but with practice, you’ll get the hang of it. It will even become fun after you experience saving your money instead of spending it.

The point here is not to give in to the temptation to spend more money than you have, but to live within your means. It will be one of the most important skills you develop.
